Thrii may seem like a dry, lifeless planet, but it is really a hidden world.
Geography/Climate
Thrii is a scorching desert planet, but it has its relatively better spots. Most of the surface is bare sand or rock, but there are places where the water table is high enough to create an oasis or two. These small pools of water are usually identified by a stand of feathery, palm-like trees or some thorny red scrub called Bloodbrush. The fruit of the feather palms is like an avocado, only sweeter and very firm. Some water can be found in the hollow centers.
Sun-parched, cracking soil occasionally creates small earthquakes and results in deep canyons or chasms. These are particularly handy places in which to stay out of the sun, which can heat the planet to a lovely 200*F. Bring some sunscreen when you visit!Rain is horribly infrequent, but it does happen once a year or so.
Creatures
The only creatures willing to live on such a torturous planet as Thrii are ones that dig elaborate tunnels down into the ground. These can include foxes, coyotes, hares, lizards, and other desert-loving animals. Of course, the Warmbloods and Coldbloods generally keep their tunneled communities far separated from each other.
Food production is mainly underground, since the tunnels are closer to the water table in most places, sometimes right next to underground rivers. Phosphorescent mushrooms and other similar crops are farmed in communal gardens. No one ventures above ground, except at night to gather some feather palm fruits or hunt for feral game. If two opposing parties do meet, it usually results in a vicious battle for rights to food and/or water.
Thrii's native anthro species is a kind of hare with two-pronged antlers on its head and hooves on its hind legs. They are very hardy and can go for days without a single drink. Most dress in tribal clothing, paint their faces with clay or Bloodbrush dyes, and are very adept with javelins. They are somewhat warlike, but they do mingle freely with the other Warmblood communities and live in tunnels like the rest.
Other Info
Both the Warmbloods and Coldbloods recognize Thrii as an important base to be covered. As a result, both factions have established permanent settlements on Thrii. As mentioned above, battles erupt on a regular basis, but no side seems to be taking control of the planet for now.
Some of the tunnels lead to metal ore mines, and as such, Thrii is an important resource for manufacturers on other planets.
